How to fake flawless skin

Few of us are blessed with a naturally flawless complexion. You’d be surprised about the number of celebs with ages spots, acne scars and ridiculously large pores. We know that Photoshop that makes them look so great on the cover of Vogue, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be jealous of their blemish-free, poreless faces. But we’ve got good news. Even if your natural skin is red or pockmarked or unevenly toned, faking a perfect complexion isn’t as hard as it might seem.

To achieve the smooth, pore-free look that celebs always rock on the red carpet, start with a primer. Primer is applied directly to the skin before foundation, concealer or blush in order to protect pores, smooth out imperfections and give makeup a long-lasting base to adhere to, meaning you won’t sweat it off even on the hottest day (or date). Important tip – make sure to let your primer dry before applying cosmetics!

If you’re looking to cover up a blemish, apply concealer after foundation (if you apply concealer first, you’ll simply wipe it away). Instead, dot cover-up on blemishes that are still visible after foundation has been applied. Then use a finishing powder to blend and set it.

Finish off your look with natural blush and bronzer, and you’re ready for your close-up.
