With no more pre-holiday cheer to light up our cheeks, we’re facing the reality of what happens when winter and skin hang out for a while – and it ain’t pretty. Here are three easy tips for maintaining your glow, despite the brutality of the winter freeze.
Swap your moisturizer. Think of your skincare the same way you think of your wardrobe – it needs to be seasonally appropriate. Similar to how you wouldn’t flounce around in a sundress in January, you shouldn’t rely on the same light creams you used to moisturize your skin in the summer. Opt for a slightly richer formula that will restore moisture to your dehydrated skin.
Use a revitalizing toner. A good toner is one that will make your moisturizer go even further – something that’s especially important in the winter. Some toners are also great for spritzing on your skin any time you need a pick-me-up.
Exfoliate (more than ever). During no other time are we as prone to dry, flaky skin as in the winter, so now definitely isn’t the time to skimp on your exfoliation routine. Be sure to give some extra attention to your lips as well (try massaging them with a toothbrush to get them buffed up and smooth).
