Music festival season is back! Be sure your makeup hits the right note

Thousands of music lovers just packed into Coachella and SXSW and it’s not over. With music festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival and Sasquatch right around the corner, there is no better time for festival-goers to consider switching up their makeup and trying new trends. Though the environment you will be partying in may be humid, dusty or a bit wild, it’s easy to create a stylish makeup look to go with your neon denim cutoffs, fringed booties and floral headpieces! Here are a few easy-to-do looks for some inspiration:

Neon Minimalism: This look totally gives an effortless, modern vibe, making it perfect for a music festival. Just pair a nude eye with a bright, neon lip and you’re set! The neon color will last longer than a creamy pink shade, especially if you blot it down and layer. Revlon Siren is great choice as it’s affordable and delivers a punch of trendy, coral color. For your eyes, start by priming the lids with Miracle Skin Transformer Treat and Conceal and then pack on Naked from Urban Decay with a flat brush. (Yes, you can prime with your concealer.  Trust me.)

Boho Goddess: Channel your inner Nicole Richie with easy, natural looking makeup and flowing locks. The best part of this look is glowing skin– even pale girls can pull off a (subtly) bronzed look. Using your fingers (who wants to bring brushes to a festival?!), smooth a light, glowing tinted moisturizer like Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer over your face. With a large blush brush, lightly dust a shimmery bronzer over your forehead, nose, chin and cheekbones. For the eyes, add some sex appeal by creating a cat eye with liquid liner—I recommend Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid Liner. To finish off the look, apply a peach lipgloss like Almay Pure Blends Peach Gloss to the lips for gorgeous, bombshell appeal!

Statement Eye Makeup: Is there a better time to experiment with wild eye makeup?! Since you’ll be seen primarily in bright daylight, avoid a dark, smokey eye; instead, opt for less harsh styles that stand out just as much. Think glitters, neons, and even rhinestones! NYX offer affordable eye –safe glitters in fun colors that look great on the eyes, but why stop there? Channel your inner fairy and sprinkle the shimmering dust wherever you’d like some extra sparkle! For a more simple statement eye, create a thick cat eye with a bright blue liquid liner such as Wet N Wild Indigo Blue Waterproof Liner – not only is it super cheap, but that stuff will NOT come off until you really want it to. Perfect for dancing in a field of sweaty people, right?
