I’m a natural kind of gal. From the food I eat to the water I drink to the skin care products I use, The word “natural” can mean a lot of different things to many different people. Even the word ‘natural’ on food packaging is completely relative. For one company it can mean that the all the ingredients used are pure, while another company only sources a few ingredients.
What natural means to me: in its purest, natural state without the use of chemicals, dyes. Not processed.
Just as the food and drink I put in my body are important to me, so are the products I use on my skin. Skin is the largest eliminatory organ and the first line of defense. We often take our skin for granted! Our skin absorbs what we put on it, so it is important to use products that don’t have harsh chemicals or dyes in them.
Here are three of my favorite natural skin care products:
I’ve been using this moisturizer for years (eight years counts as a long time, right?) and have absolutely love it. It is made with aloe and green tea which are antioxidants that help protect and soothe your skin. You can eat and apply antioxidants! It is oil free and wears very well under makeup. It also is 100 percent vegetarian and doesn’t contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Methyl Sulfate.
This is one of my favorite face sunscreen moisturizers. It is loaded with organic ingredients like Sunflower, Jojoba and Borage oils that help repair and nourish the skin. It also has Vitamin C (an antioxidant) Lemon Bioflavonoids and White Tea to help fight aging and calm the skin. Protect your skin with natural skin care ingredients! Personally, I like to mix a little of this lotion along with Alba lotion (above) for extra smooth skin.
If you are looking for an alcohol-free toner, this is it. It contains Hibiscus (helps complexion), White Tea (antioxidant ), Honeysuckle, Passion Flower and Guava to help refresh and clarify your skin – without giving you an oily shine! It also contains Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera that purify the skin without harsh chemicals.
Those are a few of my favorite natural skincare products. Do you use natural skincare products? What are your favorites?
