Get healthy skin with these quick tips

Is your skin in need of a makeover? Our clothes, home and shoe closets usually get more makeover love then our skin. But not anymore. If your skin is begging for a new lease on life, then here you go!

You are what you eat.  What are you eating? The food you eat does more than just give you energy; it can determine whether your skin is radiant or dull.  If you drink a lot of caffeinated beverages, alcohol or soda, your body gets dehydrated, resulting in wrinkles, dryness, and tired looking skin. And who wants that?

By drinking water, you can hydrate your skin from inside out. Not only will your skin start to look better, but you’ll feel better too. Besides drinking water, limit refined sugar and processed food. Eat a lot of green, leafy vegetables like kale, spinach, wheat grass, and other earth-based foods. These are natural sources of minerals and vitamins that your body needs in order to have healthy, fresh looking skin.

Makeover your diet and you’ll makeover your skin at the same time!

DON’T neglect your skin.  Perhaps you’re like-ahem-me and collapse into bed at the end of a long day and your face doesn’t get washed. Well, by not washing your face from the day’s activities, your skin is going to sleep with clogged pores. By taking a few minutes at the end of the day and cleaning your face, your skin will be able to breathe again and able to generate new skin. A skin makeover is as simple as your washcloth, sink, a gentle facial cleanser and dedication.

Replace your product.  If you haven’t replaced your makeup, cleanser, moisturizer in a while, you might want to make a move.   If the product hasn’t been used in a while, it’s a good idea to discard it. In the USA, the FDA doesn’t have expiration dates for skincare products. There are suggested guidelines from various sources, but generally speaking it is a wise idea to replace old product (like mascara for example) after 3-4 months. Bacteria can build up causing infections and other skin iterations. Perhaps write the date on the bottom of the container or make a note in your smartphone. Time does fly and if you don’t use product frequently, make a note to replace it.
