Not only does makeup help you look pretty, but if applied the right way, it can also make you look thinner – that’s right! Contouring sculpts your face and makes you appear as if you’ve lost a few pounds, which is perfect for when you spend a few too many nights out drinking margaritas with the girls.
You can start showing off your new slimmer face after just seven easy steps:
Step 1: Choose the right shades for your skin tone. If you have a pink skin tone, use warm peach for blush and light beige for shading. What you use for shading should be your skin color and what you use to contour should be one or two shades darker than your base color. If you have a yellow skin tone, use a coral blush and a honey color for shading. If you have a dark complexion, use a brownish colored blush and a bronze color for shading.
Step 2: Prep your face. After your normal skin care routine, apply your usual base makeup.
Step 3: Blush. Blush should be applied to the apples of your cheeks.
Step 4: Shading. Apply your shading color (natural skin color) on the center of your forehead, your brow bone, your chin, and the center on top of your lip.
Step 5: Bronzer. Apply your contouring color (bronzer) to the natural hollows of your cheek bones. To help you find them, suck in your cheeks or pucker your lips to the opposite side of your face. Don’t apply too close to the jaw or hairline – stop when you reach the middle of your cheek. You also want to shade at the temples at the end of your eyebrows (and then blend up) to further slim down your face.
Step 5: Blend. To avoid looking like you have streaks of different colors, blend the blush in circles towards the temple and blend your bronzer underneath it.
Step 6: Highlighter. Apply a highlighter to the top of your cheek bones, right above the blush and in a thin line down your nose. Blend.
Step 7: Blend again. Make sure you don’t have any harsh lines that give away your secret.
Happy Blending! Xx
