3 fall trends we are loving …

Whether you’re ready or not, fall is finally here! Since I live on the West Coast, I can’t exactly start wearing my fall fashion as early as some of the rest of the country. But what I can partake in and definitely get excited about is the new fall beauty looks! This season, things are richer and deeper than summer’s perky shades. Are you ready for fall? Here’s a preview of all things beauty to come.

The Dark Lip
Rich, burgundy lips and deep dark shades were seen all over the fall runways. To pull off this look, try a much softer overall makeup look. Going neutral on the eyes and skipping the blush will make your lips stand out even more. You can wear the dark lip both in a matte color or slicked with some gloss for high shine. Try Mac lipstick in Hang-up, a beautiful deep berry shade. And if you still really want to somehow highlight your cheeks, try a bronzer instead of a blush.

Defined Brows
This fall, dramatic makeup is definitely having a moment. From the dark lip to defined brows, it’s all about playing up your features.  Growing out your brows a bit fuller will help achieve a defined brow look. Then, make sure you are using a bit of brow shadow for extra definition. Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings is a great kit to start with and comes with tweezers and two shades of brown to perfectly shade your brows.  There are three coordinating color options to choose from.  Anastasia Beverly Hills also has several eyebrow kits worth trying.  Their Beauty Express kit includes stencils to create the perfect arch as well as brow cream, brow powder an eye shadow duo and a brush for application.

The Red Pout
If you like the idea of a pronounced lip but aren’t sure burgundy is a shade you’d like to try, then this season’s bright red lip may be more your style. The hot hue is perfectly suited for fall and is super sexy. For the perfect red lip, visit a local department store’s makeup counter to experiment with different shades of red.  Just like with berry lipsticks, you shouldn’t coordinate a bright red lip with a dark smoky eye, you’ll want to emphasize just the pout. Also, stay away from red lip liner as it will be hard to match the exact shade of red lipstick you are looking for and once the lip color fades, you’ll be left with a bright red ring around the lips. Definitely a beauty faux pas!
