Get flawless makeup for your fall wedding

Having a fall wedding? Other than the colors for your fête and the kind of dress you’ll get, you can also think about tailoring your wedding makeup to the season, too. After all, bright lids and summery pink lipstick isn’t exactly a winter wedding fit. But there are plenty of pretty beauty ideas we’ve got to get you gorgeous for the Big Day. Here are three to get you going!

The Evening Lip

This fall, one of the hottest beauty trends is a bold lip. Fashion designers sent their models out rocking deep, burgundy lips with an almost Goth-like flair (think, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as well as the bright red, vampy lip à la Marilyn Monroe. For an affair as grand as your wedding, we’re loving the bold lip trend. It’s a special occasion, after all, and the perfect excuse to take your beauty look up, several notches.

If you’re hesitant about a deep burgundy, try out a red lip in a bright or brick red color, two shades that are classic and unlikely to go out of style. If you don’t typically wear red, stop by a makeup counter and experiment with a few shades until you find one you like. Wear it for the day and take a few photos so you can see what others will see on camera. Remember, even if you aren’t used to it, your makeup will look different in photographs than it does in real life.

Lush Lashes

No matter what season your wedding is in, lush lashes are always in. But there’s something about fall and winter weddings that merit just an extra bit of glam and drama. Layer on some individual eyelashes for a full eyelash look. To up the intensity, apply some black eyeliner to to the inner part of your upper lid, where the water line is. You can then apply a liquid eyeliner for a drawn out cat eye once your lashes are in place. Don’t forget to swipe on some mascara because yes, you can apply mascara over those falsies!

Deep Shades

Fall and winter weddings are deep in rich shades. Translate that look to your makeup, too. A smokey eye in either brown or black is always a classic pick, but don’t overlook other pretty pairings, like a smokey plum, mauve or burgundy eye. These darker, romantic shades are a beautiful look.
