Fall is here, and any runner can agree that this is their favorite season. How can you blame them? The cooler temperatures make that blazing summer heat a thing of the past, not to mention the beautiful scenery and friends gearing up for races.
Those who are ready to kick it up a notch may be interested in a few tips to better take advantage of this fall season.
Pick it up a bit
Now that the sweltering heat is gone, take this time to run somewhat faster. No, I’m not telling you to jump from 9-minute miles to 7-minute miles, but just a little bump up in pace can go a long way.
Push it a little further
Now that you are going a bit faster, you should also think about going for a bit longer some days. Just an extra 10 minutes can ramp up your workouts while burning more calories.
Look into a race
What better motivation for getting out there than training for something? Entering a race regardless of its distance is an awesome way to get out there and enjoy the perfect fall weather. Ask your friends to do that 5K with you for a fun group activity!
