My favorite body lotions in order of favorite-ness AND Burt’s Bees Giftstravaganza Giveaway

I like lotion a lot.  I’m sure that no one enjoys being ashy and scaly.  But, my love for lotions is slightly obnoxious and borderline psychotic.   I own about 50ish bottles of lotions from scented to glittery.  So I know my lotions.  From Victoria’s Secret to Keri, I have them all. Here are my three favorite daily use lotions in order of how much I dig them.

Favorite body lotion burt's bees nourishing milk and honey

1. Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion–   For years I’d seen Burt’s Bees in various retailers but I never tried until the I went to an exes home and saw that their dresser was full of Burt’s Bees everything—lip balm, facial moisturizer and even foot softener stuff. Let’s just say that the only thing that I got out of that short lived relationship was a new skin care line to add to my arsenal. (Maybe that was the intention of the universe.  Who am I to question that?) When the company sent us the NEW Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion I was over the moon. Not only does is contain milk (which is known to soften the skin) AND honey, (which is hydrates skin and locks in moisture) BUT there’s also coconut and Vitamin E. Hello, antioxidants. There’s nothing about this lotion that I don’t like. The smell is perfection and the texture is thick but it goes on the skin like milk and honey flavored dream.  It’s pretty amazing.

2. Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter LotionShea butter is my thing.  When I was in high school, I would trek all the way from suburban New Jersey all the way to Brooklyn just to find someone that sold fresh tubs if it. Nowadays you can find raw shea in almost any beauty supply store.   Besides being super hydrating and possessing anti-inflammatory powers; it’s also great for reducing skin discoloration.  When I found out my favorite natural hair care brand had a lotion, I was on top of that like white on rice.  Shea Moisture Organic Raw She Butter lotion has a thinner consistency than most lotions containing the super ingredient.  It makes it much easier to apply. It’s great for folks with darker skin tones that are prone to hyper-pigmentation.

3. Bliss Lemon +Sage Body ButterI received this lotion as a gift from my work Secret Santa two Christmases ago.  I’ve been a Bliss groupie since that day.  I have eczema that seems enjoy flaring up and making me miserable as soon as cold weather hits.  (Eczema is kinda rude like that.) As a result, I have to switch a heavier more emollient body moisturizer to help stave off the itchees.  No one wants to date a girl that is scratching all the time, even if it is just her calves.   Bliss boasts that “a single squeeze can make rough and scaly skin ‘history.” This, my dearest beauties, is totally true.
