I know what you’re going to say: “I’ve been washing my face for ___ years, I think I know how to do it!” Now, we all have our own technique for getting out faces squeaky clean, but there might be some tips and tricks you didn’t know.
First of all, you probably already know that the most important thing about washing your face before bed is to do it – leaving makeup on while you sleep can cause zits to form and pores to enlarge, making your skin uneven and rough. Plus, it disrupts the skin’s natural shedding process, which makes your face look dull, not dazzling.
Before you hit the hay, it’s a good idea to remove all makeup AND exfoliate. If you sudse up with a cleanser that’s not exfoliating, use a washcloth to massage it into your skin – it’s a perfect medium-intensity exfoliator. Once you have washed your face, soak a cotton ball with toner to get every last trace of the day off your face. Wipe your face with this until no traces of makeup come off on the ball. Then, hands off!
