As a fitness enthusiast and blogger, the people I consider celebrities tend to be big-name or highly successful yoga instructors, fitness studio owners or celebrity trainers. I get starstruck around these people the way you might around Meryl Streep (not saying I wouldn’t love to meet her too!).

Since 2010, Kristin McGee has been at the top of my fitness-celeb list.

I first learned about Kristin when I got the Body by Bethenny yoga DVD. In it, Bethenny demonstrates a challenging yoga workout alongside her own personal instructor, Kristin McGee. I loved Kristin’s demeanor and teaching style, and she explained the poses in a way that made me understand what I should be doing.

Kristin’s list of celebrity clients is impressive: LeAnn Rimes, Steve Martin and Tina Fey to name a few. That brings me to my biggest “excited about Kristin” moment; she appeared on 30 Rock! I was so excited to see Kristin on one of my all-time favorite shows.

I attended a fitness event where Kristin taught a 20-minute yoga class. It was a great session, and Kristin even took the time to personally correct me during my downward dog. When we officially met at a press event earlier this year, I invited her to take my favorite fitness class with me and I attended one of her yoga classes. And I plan to take more – she is one of the sweetest people I ever met. Kristin is the type of person you just want to be around because she’s so positive and encouraging.

Back to business: Kristin released a new fitness DVD called S3: Strong, Sexy, Svelte.

S3: Strong, Sexy, Svelte has three distinct sections, designed to give you a rocking body.

  • STRONG – 25-minute workout of YogaTone, weights and yoga combined to make your body resilient.
  • SEXY – 25-minute Pilates core workout to streamline your physique and give you the flat abs you always wanted.
  • SVELTE – 25 minutes of yoga flow, a challenge for your entire body that stretches and sculpts for a long, lean look.


BONUS: SWEAT – A bonus five-minute cardio blast!

You can do just one section or you can mix and match. I started one morning when I was short on time with the STRONG section. This was a very challenging, intense 25 minutes combining yoga with weights. Prepare to work hard and prepare to sweat! The SVELTE section is a more typical yoga flow, also fast-paced and also sweat-inducing. Lastly, the SEXY section focused on your core with Pilates moves. Even though I don’t normally incorporate Pilates into my routine, I thought this 25-minute section offered the perfect amount of time and motivation to work on my core and abs.
