Some women might scoff when I tell them I wear makeup to the gym. Although it may seem silly to get dolled up before sweating your butt off on the treadmill, I simply feel better about myself when I can cover up my acne-prone skin and hide those bags under my eyes. Seeing an image I like in the mirror might just make me do a few extra lunges (I said might).
That said, you don’t want to look like a prom queen when you’re pumping iron. To get your face primed for a workout, you only need a few multi-purpose items. Basically, the aim here is to look like a fresh, natural you.
BB cream is my go-to for the gym, because in one simple step I can moisturize, tone, prime and cover my skin woes. If you’re pale like me, you also might need a little pre-workout flush. I use a little bit of cheek stain to give a natural glow that won’t look weird once I start sweating. If you tend to get really red during your workouts, skip this step.
Top this off with a little bit of waterproof (read: sweatproof!) mascara and a tinted lip balm, and you’re ready to get moving!
