Sexy hairstyles for long haired lovelies

Whenever I start to think that having longer hair is a hassle – all the tangles, frizz, dry ends, lack of volume, etc. – I remind myself just as versatile it is.  Because when it comes to styling long hair, the possibilities are pretty much endless. Curls, pony tails, braids, buns, French twists – the list goes on.  And let’s face – does it get any sexier than a head of long, flowing locks?

I know I never feel as sexy as I do when I’m rocking long hair.

Since I’m finally starting to see some results after growing out my hair for about a year, I’m on the hunt for the sexiest, sultriest ways to wear my long locks. There are almost too many to choose from, so here are a few of my favorite, uber-flirty ways to style long hair when you want to be sure to get noticed.

Toss It to the Side

For a simple but oh-so-sexy style, toss all of your hair over one shoulder.  Not only does it make your hair look thicker by gathering it all in one spot, it leaves your other shoulder bare so it’s perfect for pairing with a sundress, spaghetti strap tank or tube top for a sultry summer look. For an especially head-turning, tousled look, boost your hairs natural texture with a sea salt spray like Frederic Fekkai’s Summer Hair Beach Waves before tossing it to the side.

Glam It Up with Curls

If you want to look like you’ve just stepped off the red carpet, glam up your long hair with some elegant curls. Part your hair on the side, and use your favorite hot rollers or medium size curling iron to create thick, sexy curls. You can run your fingers through the curls after they’ve cooled to loosen them up a bit, but don’t separate them too much – you want to keep them mostly intact to get the look of an old school Hollywood bombshell. To keep your curls frizz-free, work a little shine serum like L’Oreal’s Everstyle Smooth & Shine Serum through your hair.

Add Loose, Flowing Waves

If glamorous curls aren’t your thing, go for natural, wild look and opt for sexy, free-flowing waves instead. You can still use hot rollers or a large curling iron to create the look – but when your curls have cooled, turn your head upside down and work your fingers through your hair to loosen them up.  Instead of sleek, glam curls, you’ll wind up with sexy tousled waves that look killer flowing down your back. To keep the waves in place all night, use a flexible hold hair spray that won’t weigh down your ‘do,  like TIGI Rockaholic Fun Times Flexible Hair Spray.

Go Sleek and Straight

There’s something super sexy – and simple – about long, shiny stick-straight hair. The trick is getting your hair completely smooth and frizz-free so your ‘do is ultra sleek and sultry. Start with a straightening balm like Fekkai Ironless Straightening Balm and work it through damp hair. Blow-dry your hair, using a brush as you go to start straightening your locks. For completely smooth, pin-straight hair, follow up with your favorite straightener and eliminate any linger wave – or frizz. Finish off with as smoothing serum like Redken’s Glass 01 Smoothing Serum to get a sexy, sleek look that is sure to turn heads.
