The Ex Factor – How would you want to look if you bumped into yours?

Some say that revenge is sweet; others couldn’t be bothered with sticking it to anyone who’s done them wrong. However, whether you’re a revenge person or not, it’s normal to want to look spectacular when you run into an ex. At the very least, I think most people hope to not be looking awful should they run into someone from their romantic past.

It doesn’t matter if it’s been years since you split up, you weren’t together for long, you were never that interested in the first place or you’ve moved on and are very happy now – it’s only natural to want to flaunt what they could have had. I can’t imagine not wanting to, unless maybe you really screwed someone over and feel horrible about it. Barring that, I’m sure you’ve thought about it. So what’s your ultimate run-into-your- ex look?

I would want to have a natural glow-from-within kind of look that gives the illusion that I’m aging in reverse. No big deal right? Too bad I don’t wake up looking like that. If I could foresee running into an ex, this is the look I would go with:

I would start by moisturizing with my new favorite face lotion – Suki Balancing Day Lotion. I love the way this stuff moisturizes my skin and leaves it looking dewy and soft. Anyways, it creates the perfect base for my foundation.

Next, I would apply a light-reflecting foundation like Nars Sheer Glow Foundation to create the perfect illuminated base for my youthful look. I’d then add a perky glow with a touch of cheek stain like Benefit Benetint on the apples of my cheeks. After that, I’d set it with a light dusting of high definition powder to make the look extra flawless. My favorite is e.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder; it really blurs imperfections and makes my skin look so soft, not to mention the price is great.

I’d finish with some subtle brown liner on my top and bottom lash lines. I like to use eye shadow and an angle brush to give a precise, but less harsh line. Finally, I’d do a couple of swipes of an ultra-lengthening mascara like Rimmel London’s Lycra Lash Extender – perfect for giving the ‘oh, I didn’t see you there’ look.

Unfortunately, unless you’re attending a reunion, you don’t usually know when you’ll run into someone from your past and it usually happens on a day when you’re looking like crap. It’s fun to dream though. Have you ever run into an ex on a day when you were looking fantastic?
