Some people are morning people – they get up with plenty of time to get ready for the day, enjoy their morning coffee and even make a delicious breakfast. I, for one, am NOT one of these people. As a result, breakfast is far from the first thing on mind – Usually, I’m too busy thinking, “where are my keys?!”
Breakfast smoothies may be the perfect answer for the over-sleepers like me. These easy blends are quick and simple and are PACKED with nutrients. Here are some great smoothie recipes that will give you that morning boost – all you have to do is press “blend”!
Banana-Cocoa Soy Smoothie
Talk about some protein! This smoothie includes 1 frozen banana, ½ cup of silken tofu, ½ cup soy milk, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and one tablespoon of honey. Blend everything but the banana until smooth, then add frozen slices of the delectable fruit and blend until its ready to go!
This delicious smoothie takes no time at all. Just blend up 1 1/4 cups orange juice, 1 banana, 1 1/4 cups frozen berries, 1/2 cup low-fat silken tofu or low-fat plain yogurt and 1 tablespoon sugar or stevia, and enjoy your day!
