Whether your skin is dull, dry or just somewhat off balance, you may be in need of some exfoliation. You should be exfoliating your skin weekly to help slough off dry, dead skin cells. And yes, even if your skin is feeling tough and dry! It may sound counterproductive, but often, sloughing off that dry skin is what reveals that fresh, glowy complexion. Not sure what exfoliating products to add to your skin care regimen? We’ve got a few favorites for you to try, no matter what you’re looking for.
For Something Light and Creamy
For a light and creamy scrub, try Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula. The gentle formula helps lessen fine lines while removing dull, flaky skin. It’s great for all skin types and can be used at night, prior to your moisturizer. Be sure to apply on fresh skin, once your makeup has already been removed.
For a Deep Cleansing
One of my all-time favorite beauty products is Bliss Steep Clean Mask. Although at $55 the price tag is a little high, it’s well worth the investment. This mask can be used weekly and deeply cleanses the skin and pores, instantly transforming dull skin. It’s especially great for clogged pores or for a nice pick-me-up prior to a special event to reveal beautiful, radiant skin that looks healthy and glows.
For Your At-Home Micro
If you’re a fan of at-home microdermabrasion products, the Hydroxatone Revitalizing Microdermabrasion is a must-try. This polish is a little more aggressive than the above two but works to polish dull, flaky skin and smooth away fine lines. For best results, use as often as every other day and apply with the Hydroxatone Microsonic Facial Brush. Follow up with your favorite serum and night cream to hydrate the skin.
For Light, Daily Use
One thing you don’t want to do is over exfoliate the skin since it can irritate and dry out your complexion. But if you love the refreshed feel of a light scrub, try something you can use daily like Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub. The microbeads lightly exfoliate the skin and the fresh, citrus scent really is a “morning burst” helping you wake up and get the day going. Plus, at under $5, its a great drugstore beauty buy.
