For the girls who get mani/pedis weekly I know it must be tough to come up with a design or color that’s creative. I personally ditch the headache of decision making, and pick one solid color. I know there are a lot of ladies out there who are way less boring than I am. So here are some nail art trends to try out this summer!
Stripes: Whether they are diagonal, vertical, or wayward, stripes never get old. Experiment with various colors and get super creative by applying stripes to either just your ring fingers or all of them. If you’re going to try this at home make sure your stripes are straight!
Half moon: We often tend to create a design at the top of our nail. But what about the bottom? The half moon utilizes that moon shaped area close to your cuticle. You can put a funky design in that area or use that area for color blocking. This trend is perfect for those who don’t have long nails. It doesn’t take up lots of space, and can be effortlessly applied at home.
Stylistic French: Who said a French manicure only has to be that boring white line? Dress up your French manicure by picking another color other than white for the stripe. You can also add a design to the stripe. Maybe a triangle instead? Or flowers?
Tribal print: This is a big one this summer! A boho chic print has been everyone’s favorite thus far. Every time I go to the salon there’s at least one person picking out a creative tribal print for their nail art. This is a little harder to do on your own, but it will give your nail technician a chance to show off their skills.
Bedazzled: Pearls, sequins, beads, studs! Adding some bedazzle to your nail art can always be you’re your manicure will stand out in the crowd for sure. Applying extra materials to your manicure like physical pearls, and gold studs may cost a little extra but it will last longer than a regular manicure. If you’re going on vacation, and want your manicure to last this might be the way to go. Not only will you have the most unique style, but it’ll last longer! It’s a win, win!
Polka dots: The good old fashioned polka dots will never get old. Believe it or not this style comes with many options. You can do big dots or small dots, and switch up the colors. This is super easy to do at home with the right amount of focus, and time. And no matter what people say, polka dots are appropriate for any age!
If you decide to try one of these make sure your nail technician has done it before, unless you’re the risky type. As for those of you who like to experiment at home, be sure to look at a couple of tutorials on Youtube, and Pinterest. They’re very informative.
