New budget? Save your skincare routine without spending tons of money

The skincare products out there are enough to make your head spin. There seems to be an endless amount of products for every different type of skin problem. Even when you have a routine down, it may cost a pretty penny. How do you update your skincare routine without spending all of your hard earned dollars?

First figure out which products are essential for you. You may want to see a dermatologist to go over your skin problems and talk about what products you should be using. Everyone needs a good cleanser, but what type is right for your specific skincare needs? Do you need toner, moisturizer, serum? They will be able to help you decide when the beauty store seems like a nightmare.

Once you’ve figured out what products you need, think about what is most important to you. Are natural products more important and worth more money to you? Do you love a certain brand? What products can you not live without? Next, try to find multi-tasking products. Sometimes a product can do multiple things. If you can find a product that balances your skin and moisturizes, it can multitask for you, in turn, saving you time and money.

Take advantage of samples. Beauty stores like Ulta often give away free samples when you buy certain products or attend an event that is giving away free samples. These samples may not go a long way, but it is a great way to try a product before you buy a full size. Next time you’re shopping for skincare products, ask a sales associate if you can try a sample before you buy. Stores like Lush will often give you a little sample to take home if you’re not sure if you want to buy something.

Another way to save money and be sure your products are safe and natural are to make your own skincare products. Pinterest and Google are a great place to start to find recipes for cleansers, moisturizers, face masks and much more that contain things you probably already have in your cupboard.

Lastly, don’t forget about coupons when shopping! Drugstores often have sales on beauty products or offer coupons. Try shopping online and look up coupon codes to use.
