No one wants acne. Whether you get a lot of it or only break out when you’re PMSing or stressed out, it can be a major pain. There might be every day habits you are doing that are causing acne and you don’t even realize it. Here are the major habits that cause acne you should stop doing if you want to clear up your face by the holidays.
Your phone is often responsible for the errant breakouts that show up on your cheeks. Think about how often you use your phone, where you set it down and how often you really clean that sucker. Dirt, germs and oils get all over your phone from your mouth and hands and then you press it up on your face. This can cause acne pretty quickly.
Another common mistake is touching your face frequently with your hands. Have you ever noticed getting acne on your chin after sitting with your head in your hands listening intently to someone? This is very common. Make sure you wash your hands before touching your face and wipe your phone down with an antibacterial wipe every day.
Most women apply makeup every day using different types of makeup brushes. But do you wash these often enough or even ever? Wash your makeup brushes weekly with a shampoo or makeup brush spray and let dry to avoid getting your face irritated from a dirty brush filled with bacteria, dirt and oil. Make sure you rinse thoroughly to avoid leftover shampoo residue causing further irritation.
Another common culprit of acne could be from too much yoga. Who knew? Yoga itself is a calming and has been credited with helping prevent stress related breakouts. However, you fail to clean your yoga mat or use one that has been used by others it could be wreaking havoc on your face and body. If you are rubbing your face on the mat, you could be picking up sweat, dirt and oil that will clog your pores. Clean your yoga mat after each use with a cleansing wipe and use a towel for the poses that have your face hitting the yoga mat.
Lastly, your diet could be the cause to your sudden acne outburst or long haul with bad skin. Try ditching dairy and junk food and see how your skin reacts. It should clear up after a few weeks.
