Weight Loss Tips and Tricks that are Free

When summer rolls around, some of us panic about the thought of being caught in a bathing suit. You scramble to try to lose weight and nothing works. You try all the expensive supplements and diet books. But losing weight really shouldn’t cost a dime. Here are some of the more effective weight loss tips and tricks that are actually free.

First of all, get enough sleep! Not getting enough sleep can greatly affect your eating habits. When you’re tired, you tend to crave sweets and eat more than you normally would. Try to get 7-9 hours of quality sleep every night to stave off cravings and feel well rested enough all day to avoid all the coffee and donuts in your office. To get a good night’s sleep, don’t use electronics at least an hour before bed, practice deep breathing or use lavender oils to relax.

Along with getting enough sleep, make sure you’re not too stressed out. Being stressed can make you reach for bad foods and think you have no time for exercise. Go for a walk outside, find a free yoga class, listen to relaxing music or whatever it is that helps you relieve stress and unwind.

Try a new exercise, such as high-intensity interval training (HIIT), which is a fast way to lose pounds that doesn’t require any special equipment or location or even much time. HIIT means repeated exercises at a high intensity for 30 seconds to a few minutes and then followed by a few minutes of recovery. For such an intense workout, make sure you are in good health to begin a HIIT program.

If HIIT isn’t your thing, check out Pinterest or other website for free fitness programs and workouts. You can find free videos and sample workouts everywhere on the web. You don’t have to join a fancy and expensive gym or yoga studio to lose weight.

Lastly, make sure you are drinking a lot of water throughout the day. Water can help curb your appetite and you tend to trick yourself into thinking you are hungry when you are actually just thirsty. Drink a glass of water 30 minutes before a meal to ensure you don’t eat too much or reach for an extra dessert.
