How to Detox Your Beauty Regimen- Part 2

Hello Beauties!   I hope you had a chance to out my first article on this topic. Now that we have gotten some of the ‘nasties’ out of the way and you have started your beauty product detox, this guide will help you fill in the blanks, when you shop. Since we’ve gotten away from ingredients we can’t pronounce, let’s make it fun with ingredients that are easier to say (some of them you can even eat). While you don’t have to change everything at once, here are some products you should consider transitioning to as soon as possible.

Clean Green– Commercial body washes contain a great deal of unnatural foaming agents. Go for some something a bit green when you clean. Coconut and Hibiscus Body Wash by Shea Moisture (also comes in a bar)

Organic Body Lotion and Oil – Your skin is the biggest elimination organ, and since it covers all of your body, its best to lace it with organic ingredients. Try finding products with sexy ingredients you would eat. If you like lotions try Shea Butter Intensive by Shea Terra.  This lotion contains certified organic aloe Vera juice and certified organic shea butter.  If you prefer oil try Pink Guava Shea Body Nectar Spray Oil by Shea Terra.

Facial Moisturizer– Even if you not ready to switch your foundation to something organic, start with an organic serum, moisturizer and or primer to protect your skin from anything that you put on top. We love everything for the face by Indie Lee. The Swiss Apple Facial Serum is out of this world!

Lips– The average women eats a pound of lipstick in her life, so it’s important that whatever you put on your lips, your body recognizes as food. Let’s face it, we don’t want to sacrifice style, and thanks to Vaour Organic Beauty, you don’t have.  Ion lipstick if you like a traditional lipstick then you will love the formulation of Siren . Siren is made with 70% Certified Organic ingredients and 30% natural mineral pigments and vitamins. If lip-gloss is more your thing try Elixir Plumping Lip Gloss.

Nail Polish– Your nail beds are extremely porous, so it’s important that you use something that is five free. This means free of Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor. Check out the collection by Priti NYC.

Now that you have the basics, have fun!
