Easy Daily Skin Care Routines for Your Skin Type

Easy-Daily-Skin-Care-Routines-for-Your-Skin-Type

Whether you wear makeup every day or just a few times a week, your goal for achieving glowing skin should begin long before you put on the foundation and concealer. Although makeup does a lot to help your face look flawless, a daily skin care routine keeps all your skin–not just your face–looking healthy and beautiful.

Read on for the best skin care routines and products for every skin type.

Normal/Combination Skin

If your skin is already free of obvious issues, you won’t have to work too hard to keep it looking healthy. Start your day by washing your face and neck with a mild, foaming facial cleanser to thoroughly clean your skin. Then, apply a light, daily moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher. Before going to bed, use the facial cleanser once again to wash your face/neck. Apply a moisturizing night cream/lotion to your skin.

Oily Skin

In the morning, wash your face and neck with an oil control, foaming facial cleanser to thoroughly clean your skin. Then, apply a daily moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher. Some people with oily skin may think it’s a good idea to skip the moisturizer since your skin already has enough moisture, but that’s not true. Instead of ditching the moisturizer, look for products that are oil-free. Before going to bed, use the facial cleanser once again to wash your face/neck. Apply an oil-free night cream/lotion to your skin.

  • Facial Cleanser: Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash
  • Daily Moisturizer: Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer SPF 35
  • Night Cream: Olay Age Defying Anti-Wrinkle Oil-Free Night Cream

Dry Skin

Start your day by washing your face and neck with warm water only. Washing your face twice a day with a facial cleanser is just too much for people with extremely dry skin. After washing your face/neck, apply a hydrating moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher to add as much moisture to the skin as possible. Before bed, use a rich, non-drying facial cleanser with hyaluronic acid to thoroughly clean your skin. Finish by applying a creamy, moisturizing night cream/lotion.

  • Facial Cleanser: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
  • Daily Moisturizer: Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion SPF 30
  • Night Cream: Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream

Sensitive Skin

Because sensitive skin can be easily irritated, choose products that are free of fragrances and dyes, and those that contain with natural, organic, and calming ingredients. Also, make sure to avoid products that contain known irritants, such as alpha hydroxy acids, parabens, and sulfates. To start your day, wash your face and neck with warm water only. Washing your face twice a day with a facial cleanser can be irritating and over-drying, especially if you have acne-prone skin. After washing your face/neck, apply a light, gentle moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher. At night, use a gentle, foaming facial cleanser with calming botanicals to thoroughly clean your skin. Follow that with a light, hypo-allergenic night cream/lotion.

  • Facial Cleanser: Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser
  • Daily Moisturizer: Bellaplex
  • Night Cream: Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream
