Make Your Lips Look the Way You Want Them To

We should all be happy with what we are born with, but changing your look a little with makeup tweaks can’t hurt every now and again. If you’ve always wanted a different lip shape, you can use these tricks to make your lips appear fuller, thinner or whatever you desire.

If you want your lips to look fuller, choose a lip liner and lipstick in a matching shade and go for a lighter color. Darker colors, like a deep red, can actually make your lips look smaller. Line your lips to the outermost edge but don’t go outside the natural line. Fill in your entire lip with the lip liner then cover with lipstick. This will make your lips appear full and plump. Use a cream or glossy shade to accentuate the fuller effect quickly.

If you want your lips to appear wider, again use a liner that matches your lipstick. Use the lip liner to line the extreme edges of your lips and extend a little into the corners. Fill in with the lipstick then use lip gloss on the middle of lips only for extra accentuations.

If your lips are already large and in charge and want them to appear a little thinner, trace your lip liner inside the natural lip line and fill with lipstick. Use a matte shade as it will make your lips appear smaller and thinner easily.

If you want to add some natural definition to your lips, use a neutral colored lip pencil then fill in your lips with a sheer gloss using a lip brush and filling in with gentle strokes.

Before you apply any lip color, make sure your lips are exfoliated and moisturized. These tricks won’t work if your lips are chapped and have flakes. If you want your lipstick to stay for a long period of time and don’t have any long-wearing shades, you can use this trick to make any lipstick last. After applying, blot with a tissue and then use a large eye shadow brush to dust your lips with clear powder then apply another layer of lipstick. Then blot, powder and apply another coat of lipstick to ensure it will stay put.
