Our skin can often reveal to us what is going on inside our bodies. For example, acne might not just reveal imbalances in your skin, but imbalances inside your body or potentially risky health issues. There are some common imbalances in the body and the skin issues that can reveal these imbalances to us to help us feel better, inside and out.
1. Acne can show toxic buildup, leaky gut, bacteria imbalance or a hormonal imbalance. Acne can appear when your body has more toxins than it can effectively get rid of. For example, if you are a heavy drinker and your liver is overloaded constantly, you might see acne pop up. It can also be a sign of a sluggish digestion or food intolerance. This might mean you have more bad bacteria than good in your gut. Eat a healthier diet, do a detox and choose a probiotic to help improve your digestive system. Also, figure out what food intolerances you may have. Lastly, acne that frequently appears around your mouth and chin could be the sign of a hormonal imbalance.
2. Wrinkles and/or dry and dull skin can show up from nutrient deficiencies and dehydration. Be sure to drink plenty of water each day and eat healthy fats such as avocado, coconut, olive oil, fish and nuts.
3. Rosacea can be a sign of toxic buildup, leaky gut or a bacteria imbalance. If you have rosacea and acne, you need to take care of yourself. Healing your digestive system with diet and probiotics will often get rid of rosacea and clear up your skin.
4. Eczema can also be a sign of an allergy, leaky gut or toxic buildup in your system. Try an elimination diet to see if you have an allergy or food intolerance as this could really clear up any skin problems. You might notice skin issues when you eat certain foods or don’t get as many nutrients. Eczema can also be triggered by stress.
Most of these issues can be cleared up with a simple detox, choosing a better diet, figuring out and eliminating foods that cause you issues, drinking more water and exercising to release more toxins from your body.
