9 Home Remedies For Constipation

If you regularly get constipated, it can be anything but comfortable. If you have it too often, it can also cause more serious problems like fissures and bleeding. However, overuse of laxatives can cause the bowel muscles to weaken and actually worsen your problem. Here are some easy home remedies to relieve constipation:



1. Eat more prunes or drink prune juice. It might not be the best tasting remedy, but it has loads of insoluble fiber and natural laxatives. Add lemon juice to prune juice to make it taste better and actually help it work more effectively.

2. Try dandelion tea. It contains natural laxatives and is great for detoxing.

3. Go for good oils. Try omega-3 or fish oil supplements daily. You can also try a spoonful of castor oil or pure olive oil. Swallow just one spoonful when your stomach is empty, preferably in the morning.

4. Find out if you’re lactose intolerant. If you find yourself with digestive issues when you eat dairy, you might be lactose intolerant and experiencing constipation because of this.

5. Try probiotics or eat more yogurt to have good bacteria in your system. Good bacteria are essential to healthy digestion.

6. When you get up in the morning, drink a glass of water before you eat breakfast. Add some lemon or lemon juice. This will help get your digestive system moving properly.

9. It sounds weird, but schedule your toilet time. Some of us are simply so go-go-go that we forget to “go” and end up constipated. The longer you hold it in, the harder it will be to pass. Take time in the morning to relax and eliminate before you head to work.
