Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. This includes the wonderful season of summer. Soon, gone will be the days of long, warm nights, ice cream every day, and lots of fun outdoor activities. Of course, every season has its fun times, but if you are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to make it count! Here are some ways to make the most of the end of summer:
Enjoy summer nights
Every night that you can, spend it outdoors. Check out cities near you and see what free local events are coming up. Baseball games, concerts in the park, outdoor plays, outdoor movies or dinner and drinks on a rooftop patio are all fun ideas you don’t want to miss out on.
Exercise outdoors
While you can enjoy the nice weather, make sure to take most of your workouts outside. Go for a walk, a run or jog, a bike ride or play sports when you can. Head to a park and use the playground structures to do a new and interesting workout.
Make the most of light mornings
Soon, it will be dark and dreary in the mornings. Ask a friend to get breakfast, go for a walk in the park, head to the beach or simply sit with a coffee outside and soak up the sun’s rays. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
Don’t miss staple summer fun activities
Don’t forget to go to the beach, the zoo, the waterpark, and other fun summer activities one last time.
Take a vacation or spend a weekend away
While the weather is nice, go camping or take a weekend trip to another state or another city. Go fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming or try another summer activity and bond with your loved ones in a new city. If you have a little more time or money, head to a vacation far away to enjoy the last of summer in a new destination.
Fill up on summer foods
Before the season ends, fill up on your favorite summer treats. Enjoy all the barbecue, fresh fruit, fish tacos, and ice cream that your heart desires. Your diet can start in the fall, right? Try hosting an end of summer barbecue party and ask your friends and family to bring their favorite summer dish.
